香港胸肺基金會獎學金接受任何執業醫生、專職醫療人員、科學家、學生及其他相關人士的申請。申請理由可包括到海外進行研究、學習及培訓以獲取有關呼吸系統疾病的最新診斷、預防及治療方法的經驗。香港胸肺學會之活躍成員的申請將獲優先考慮。
